Conway Twitty (real name -- Harold Jenkins) is one of country music's all-time greats. He had over 50 number one hits. I am not sure but I seem to recall that George Strait finally passed this milestone recently. I have had an idea for a song for a long time.

Recently, it came to fruition when I expanded on the idea to simply use Conway Twitty songs as the fuel. Reason being, nobody had more lovin' and cheatin' songs than Conway and I felt it could make for a feel-good up-tempo song. According to my observations over the past forty years, a ton of people cheat on their spouse because most people, especially women, love Conway Twitty songs.

This song's verses and bridge (not the chorus) was crafted using Conway Twitty song titles. It took awhile. He recorded some 300 songs. Each line has either one or two songs in it. Here are the songs I used:

Hello Darlin'
It's Only Make Believe
I Just Cannot See Me Without You
As Soon As I Hang Up The Phone
Tight Fittin' Jeans
My Heart Knows
You Know Just What I'd Do
Hungry Eyes
I'd Love To Lay You Down
When We Gonna Be Alone
You Make It Hard To Take The Easy Way Out
Bring It On Home
Things Have Gone To Pieces
These Lonely Hands Of Mine
Back Home Again
Funny But I'm Not Laughing
At Least One Time
What's A Little Love Between Friends
Bad Girl
Bad Man
I'll Try
Slow Hand
That's My Job
Let Your Love Flow
Go Woman Go
Fifteen Years Ago
I Saw The Want To In Your Eyes
Touch The Hand
Heavenly
Linda On My Mind
Rest Your Love On Me

I will double check these titles. They are close to being right, anyway.

"I AM YOUR CONWAY TWITTY SONG"
(copr)2007 Bill Pittman

Hello darlin', we don't need our conscience you and me
Baby, when we gonna be alone
As soon as I hang up the phone, put on tight fittin' jeans
Come on over, bring it on home

I got hungry eyes, oh, how I'd love to lay you down
Just lead the way, walk me to the door
Oh, you make it hard to take the easy way out
And it's only make believe won't be no more

[ CHORUS: ]
I am your Conway Twitty song
His greatest hits will never do you wrong
When we gonna move this thing along
I am your Conway Twitty song

Fifteen years ago, I saw the want to in your eyes
Now, let me touch the hand of heavenly
Your name isn't Linda but you're always on my mind
I'm hanging on, rest your love on me

[ CHORUS - REPEAT ]

[ BRIDGE: ]
Bad girl, bad man
I'll try slow hand
That's my job
Let your love flow, go woman go

( modulate +2/2 )
It's funny but I'm not laughing, I want at least one time
What's a little love between friends
Things have gone to pieces in these lonely hands of mine
Love me, then go back home again

[ CHORUS - REPEAT ]
